Why?

Periodic Records Instead of Live Balances

The wealth tracker is built around periodic, user-entered snapshots rather than a live transaction feed. Its purpose is to show changes between recorded points in time.

Mental Health Matters

Some people prefer not to expose live balances or transaction histories to another service. Manual snapshots let each user choose when and what to record.

Security and Privacy

Bank connection services require sharing your credentials with third parties. Even with the best security practices, this creates risk. By not connecting to banks:

• Your credentials stay private
• There’s no third-party data sharing
• You control exactly what information you enter

How to Use Plan in Decades Instead

To create a snapshot:

1. Check your account balances once per month or once per quarter
2. Save your snapshots
3. Follow your finances over time
4. Create scenarios and compare how you are tracking

The resulting record contains only the figures the user chooses to enter. It is not a complete account history and may omit transactions, fees, taxes, or assets and liabilities that were not entered.
